European PlayStation 3 users can look forward to picking up their copy of the action-adventure game, Way of the Samurai 4, which is now available to pick up at retail. The title will also be available on the PlayStation Store come October 10th, 2012.
Set in 19th century Japan, the country now welcomes foreigners, which opens up a number of opportunities. Players assume the role of their own wandering samurai, and may take part in a power struggle between the Japanese government, the patriotic isolationists, and foreign agents under rule by the British Navy.
Players may participate in a number of quests to affect their allegiance, and take advantage of their own blade as well as the foreigner influenced “gunpowder-based weapons”. The title also sports an online mode in which other players may invade your game world, controlled by the game’s artificial intelligence, allowing players to acquire items from other player’s lands.
Released on October 5, 2012 in the EU; Way of the Samurai 4 will also be available on the PlayStation Network on October 10th. The title has been published by NIS America, and is exclusive to PlayStation 3. It launched previously in Japan on March 3rd, 2011; with a North American release on August 21st, 2012. You can look forward to our review in the near future.
[Edit: Forgot to include details that it was a PlayStation 3 exclusive, and didn’t include previous launches in other regions. I guess I’m losing my touch.]
