The upcoming Devil May Cry reboot, DmC, will feature Dante’s twin brother Vergil. The new Vergil is a highly intelligent, gifted and rich individual who loathes demons.
Capcom confirmed that Ninja Theory’s upcoming reboot to the Devil May Cry franchise will feature the protagonist’s twin brother, Vergil, who previously appeared in Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening.
In DmC, the protagonist, Dante, was raised in an orphanage run by demons. Meanwhile, Vergil was far more fortunate and was adopted by a rich and prestigious family. Consequently, Vergil has become an incredibly intelligent and gifted invididual, who has developed a security encryption program that eventually resulted in him becoming a multi-millionaire before he even left school.
The new Vergil absolutely detests demons for enslaving Sparda, his father, and slaying his mother. He has grown into a dispassionate man who relies on logic, neglecting emotion, to achieve his life goal: to defeat the demons. Vergil is the leader of the anti-establishment faction known as The Order.
DmC is expected to launch on the 15th of January in 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a PC release yet to be dated. The title follows Dante, a character with no respect for authority and society, who struggles with being both angel and devil. You can find a trailer including Vergil here.
