Terraria Coming To Consoles, New Content, Screenshots

Terraria Logo Console PlayStation 3 Network Xbox 360 Live Arcade Marketplace AnnouncedRe-Logic, developers of 2011 PC hit Terraria, have announced that the indie title will now be launching on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. New content confirmed and screenshots of the console version have been released.

Terraria, often compared to Minecraft despite being barely similar, was released incomplete back in May of last year. Since launch, Re-Logic had been working hard to add additional content until their latest update, version 1.1, which brought hard mode into the game. Having been finished with the game for a while, the developers proudly announce that Terraria will be available on console sometime next year, in 2013.

The port will be handled by 505 Games and Engine Software. New content has also been promised for the title, although it remains unclear as to whether this new content will also make its way to the original Windows PC version. What the content actually is has also yet to be defined.

As a fan of Terraria, I’m pleased to hear that it will be expanding its influence further. It really deserves to do well.
