Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes

metal gear solid, ground zeroes, box art, reviewSurrounded in controversy, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is a short prologue to the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Before launching, players were split on the high price and low duration of the title, resulting in Konami reducing the recommended retail price and in a lot of claims that Ground Zeroes was likely nothing more than a purchasable demo.

Surrounded in controversy, Metal Gear Solid 2 dared to replace Solid Snake as the lead protagonist. Meanwhile, the upcoming Ground Zeroes has also been subject to similar criticism, this time for replacing the iconic Solid Snake’s voice actor. It’s an interesting parallel, but I’d be deceiving you if I lead you to believe we’d be exploring any of Ground Zeroes’ controversies here.   Continue reading

Metal Gear Solid

Metal Gear Solid, box art, reviewLaunching in 1998 and developed by Konami, Metal Gear Solid is one of the best selling PlayStation titles on the system. While not the first in the series, with both Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake preceding it, Metal Gear Solid was somewhat revolutionary. It married cinematic storytelling with gameplay to a level not yet seen on the system, and offered a unique and innovative experience for players to enjoy. With Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes coming out in March, we’re going to take a look through the Metal Gear Solid series.   Continue reading

The queue was large, stated to last at least an hour, but I was determined to get my shot. Was it worth the wait?
