Publisher Konami unveils another trailer at Tokyo Game Show, revealing new characters and a little more insight into the story.
Whilst the trailer doesn’t outright explain any new details, it does allude to many. The appearance of new enemies, most likely to serve as the game’s boss characters, is self-explanatory; however, other elements such as the somewhat subtle costume change that protagonist Raiden goes through may provide clues into the direction of the story, as well as perhaps the origin of the Revengeance sub-title.
Raiden’s appearance during the trailer changes. At one stage, he appears in his cyborg ninja form from Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. It has been confirmed that this title is set in the future of MGS4, which leads to some speculation as to a prologue in which Raiden faces off against the more enhanced cyborgs of Rising, in the past, and losing. Thus ‘Revengeance’, as Raiden. Enhanced and with a new body, players will likely play Raiden as he returns to action to pursue the antagonists of his past. Perhaps, the villains that he fought as he attempted to rescue the young character Sunny between events in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and MGS4?
Of course, I could just be talking crap.
