New trailer and screens reveal new enemy/ally. Gets release date.
Metal Gear Rising has seen a revamp thanks to Platinum Games’ involvement in the title. Now, it’s the E3 trailer that gets the same treatment. The new trailer reveals a canine ally for Raiden, equipped with a chainsaw.
Originally, Kojima Productions were developing Metal Gear Solid: Rising; however, the project was cancelled when it failed to proceed beyond being a concept, as designers struggled to implement the ‘cut anything’ feature into a full-fledged game. As a result, Hideo Kojima himself decided that he would seek outside help, and who else to go to for an action game but Platinum Games? Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was born.
Revengeance is an action game at heart, but it still contains elements of stealth that made the Metal Gear franchise what it is today. Set some years after Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, the title follows Raiden who has once again become a cyborg.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is expected to be released in the UK on the 22nd of February next year.
