There is a special gaming event that occurs every year, bringing developers, students, and anyone with ambition together to form teams and compete in video game development. The Global Game Jam sees industry veterans, unknowns and newcomers produce their own videogame, based upon a theme, within a short forty-eight hour period.
The Game Jam event is supported through-out the world, just as the name suggests. I also happen to be participating in Scotland’s Game Jam, which has already started. As the day goes on, other countries will be joining in sequentially based upon their time zones.
For those interested, there’s also a live blog and stream of the Scottish Game Jam, Glasgow specifically, which readers can find simultaneously over at Calm Down Tom.
