Reggie Fils-Aime, President of Nintendo of America, announced Bayonetta 2 exclusively for the upcoming Wii U home console. To accompany the announcement, Nintendo have released a trailer for the title.
Sequel to 2010’s Bayonetta, released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the now announced title will be launching exclusively for Nintendo’s Wii U platform. The news comes from Nintendo’s press conference earlier today.
Fans may be disappointed to find themselves having to purchase an entirely separate system to the one that they played the original title on, but the situation could not have been avoided after SEGA dropped Bayonetta 2 earlier this year. Nintendo have taken on the publishing role for the title, securing themselves a significant exclusive and enabling Bayonetta 2 to even exist.
No other significant details have been released, with the exception that Platinum Games are still developing the title, and that Hideki Kamiya will return, this time as supervisor for the game. Hideki Kamiya is also currently working on another Wii U exclusive, The Wonderful 101, which is scheduled for later this year.
